FAQs - All about our apartments Print E-mail

What is included in the rent of the apartment? What is the composition of the rent? What are the costs I have to expect in total?

  • In general, the monthly rent of the apartment is specified without any personal expenses and monthly maintenance fees.
  • The monthly maintenance fee is a fixed amount for the maintenance of the building (corresponding to running costs) which has to be paid monthly. These include costs for cleaning general building areas, proportional elevator charges, costs for the concierge service, garbage disposal fee, etc.
  • Running costs for electricity, water and gas must be paid directly by the renter according to consumption.

If not explicitly specified in the included services, you have to add as well the fees for internet and cable television. For short-term rentals, for example, for a period up to one month, there is a total rental price, which includes all the above mentioned costs (rent, maintenance costs and running costs).

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

The deposit serves as a safeguard to the owner for any damages caused to the apartment. In general, the deposit is about one month's rent. The deposit will be refunded upon your departure from the apartment.

Where I will get the keys for the apartment?

The keys will be handed over to you directly upon your arrival in Chile. An employee of Chile Inside will accompany you to the meeting with the landlord in the rented apartment.

When will I receive the rental contract? With whom will I settle the contract?

The rental contract will be signed personally in Chile after your arrival at the meeting between you and the landlord (in some cases with confirmation of a notary service). Upon request we could send you the rental contract by mail in advance to review.

Am I allowed to keep pets in the apartment?

Please indicate this request in advance in order to clarify this matter with the owner of the apartment.

Does the apartment include a cleaning service during the week?

If this service is not listed in the rental details, you have to take care of the cleaning of the apartment by yourself. In some cases, the cleaning service is included in the monthly rent.

Are there any towels and bed linen provided in a furnished apartment?

Upon your arrival the bedroom is equipped with pillows, blankets and bed sheets. Usually you have to bring your own towels. In some apartments these are also provided.

Which features of the apartment can I expect?

In most cases the furnished apartments have practical and functional furniture. The decoration is mostly neutral. The exact equipment can be found in the appropriate apartment description and the corresponding pictures on our website.

Are there any additional costs for cleaning the apartment after my departure?

No, unless this is explicitly stated at booking. The apartment has to be returned In the same condition that you received it.

Who can I contact in case of any repair necessity or if something does not work in the apartment?

Basically the team of Chile Inside is available for your requests at any time and supports you in communication with the landlord. In general, repairs or damages shall be arranged directly with the owner and reported to them.

What steps do I have to follow from the reservation until I am settled in my apartment?

You can search our database completely, free of charge and without committing to anything, until you find the right apartment for you. Then, you have to mail the reservation form to us with your choice so that we can check for availability. Once we have confirmed its availability to you, we will tell you about the neighborhood, its location and the transport situation; we also give you useful tips and important information. Only when you have made your choice, will we ask you to pay for the commission in order to reserve the apartment. Until the binding reservation has been made, the apartment will not be reserved for you. The rental contract will be signed upon arrival. At the same time the keys will be handed over to you, you will pay the first month's rent and, together with the owner, you will review the apartment’s inventory.

How does the return of the keys work?

At the end of the rental period there is a meeting with the landlord in order to return the keys. Together, you will tour the apartment to check condition of apartment and its interior. Additionally, any outstanding bills (water, electricity, etc.) will be settled.

In case you cannot find an apartment that meets your needs, please feel free to contact us and we will look for other options for you.

Important: The commission fee is charged only if you want to go ahead with the reservation. Usually, the guarantee deposit is also required at this point. Thank you for understanding that we cannot guarantee you an apartment without receiving the deposit on time.

The apartment will be at your entire disposal upon your arrival in Chile, according to what was agreed. Formalities, such as the signing of the rental contract and examination of the inventory will be carried out shortly after your arrival. We suggest considering our airport pick-up service in order for you to reach your “new” home directly and comfortably without any difficulties.
